NEET-MDS cut-off falls again: Gujarat reopens MDS registration until 5 pm on 18 October

Dentists who missed the NEET-MDS 2026 cut-off have another chance at a Gujarat MDS seat. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has lowered the qualifying percentile for NEET-MDS 2026 by 20.576 percentile in every category. The Admission Committee for Professional Post-Graduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPPGMEC), Gujarat responded on 15 October 2026 with a fresh PIN sale and online registration for MDS courses only.

The new cut-offs

The ministry’s letter is dated 12 October 2026. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) published the revised scores on 14 October.

Category	Original cut-off	Revised cut-off
General (UR/EWS)	50th percentile, 308/960	29.424 percentile, 234/960
General PwBD	45th percentile, 289/960	24.424 percentile, 218/960
SC, ST, OBC (including their PwBD candidates)	40th percentile, 271/960	19.424 percentile, 200/960

This is the second cut this season. On 29 September the National Dental Commission had already lowered the percentile by 10 points in each category. NBEMS says the ranks declared on 2 June 2026 do not change. Only the qualifying line moves.

How much time is left in the season

The MDS academic session formally began on 1 October. Under the MCC schedule that Gujarat has posted, the last date to join a state round-3 seat is 19 October, and the state stray vacancy round runs from 24 to 30 October, with joining by 5 November 2026. Candidates who register now should expect to compete mainly for seats left over at that stage.
