NIOS Class 10 and 12 exams start on 22 October: download your hall ticket now, last papers on 5 and 7 December
The National Institute of Open Schooling has fixed its October 2026 theory exams from 22 October to 7 December. Hall tickets are on sdmis.nios.ac.in, but only for learners who paid the October exam fee and whose photograph NIOS has on record.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) will hold its October 2026 theory exams for Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) from Thursday, 22 October 2026. Notification 63/2026, signed by the Director (Evaluation) on 8 October 2026, attaches the date sheet. Class 12 papers end on 5 December and Class 10 papers on 7 December. Hall tickets are already live on the SDMIS portal.

Get your hall ticket first
Go to sdmis.nios.ac.in and open “Hall Ticket Oct-Nov 2026”. Enter your 12-digit enrolment number, pick Hall Ticket for Theory Examination and submit. NIOS says the hall ticket will download only if two things are true:
- you paid the exam fee for the October 2026 public exam, and
- NIOS has your photograph on record.
If the hall ticket does not generate, NIOS asks you to contact your Regional Centre straight away. With the first paper on 22 October, that leaves very little time, so download it well before then.
Main subject dates
Every paper starts at 2:30 pm. Most run to 5:30 pm. Some skill and arts papers end earlier, and Class 10 Mathematics, Science and Home Science end at 5 pm.
