Laboratories are well equipped and libraries filled with plethora of books in every field. Hostels and LHCs are well maintained and provide a great study environment. | Academics: I am studying Mechanical and Industrial engineering here. Known for it's academic excellence, the college stands up to the mark in providing excellent teaching lessons and training. Professors aim at providing latest information in easy-to-comprehend manner so that students can relate and apply the knowledge provided in practical. It makes a student job ready in every aspect. | Placements: Placement seasons provide optimum opportunities in every field of your choice, related to engineering. Job offers are more than satisfactory with major MNCs and startups attending the placement drives every year. Many of the all time high packages (domestic and overseas) are from this college. Major percentage of the students are placed, most of the unplaced ones being interested either in entrepreneurial fields or research.

Campus life was excellent, with excellent sports facilities, a library, study rooms, and adequate dorms for fast internet and communication. | Highly educated professor teach students in very good manner. They are highly qualified, trained. We have the top academics, and when it comes to professors, we have the best in India, with highly qualified Ph.D. holders. For getting IIT Roorkee in JEE advance, a minimum of 98% is required for students. The highest package offered ranges from 1 crore to 1.5 crores per annum. The average package ranges from 10-15 LPA. The top recruiting companies that I know are Tata Power, Cisco, Siemens Energy, etc. Read more
For getting IIT Roorkee in JEE advance, a minimum of 98% is required for students. The highest package offered ranges from 1 crore to 1.5 crores per annum. The average package ranges from 10-15 LPA. The top recruiting companies that I know are Tata Power, Cisco, Siemens Energy, etc. In IIT Roorkee, 70-80% of students got internships from the electrical department in companies like Texas Instruments and Tata Power. My senior friends are currently doing internships in the above-mentioned companies. | In our college hostel, Wi-Fi is not available. Labs are good but so old. Classrooms are best upgraded and added with some digital equipment for teaching. The library is good. It is peaceful and no one will disturb us because rules are so strict. It has the best quality hostels but the quality of food is sometimes not so good so we have to manage it for some time. Medical facilities are also available, and a first aid kit is available. The canteen structure is so good and impressive. Sports ground is very large and the college is so supportive of sports. | All teachers are PhD holders and aged. Some teachers are supportive and helpful but some are very strict. But all are knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good sometimes but it is okay. Difficulty level of semester exams is hard. The pass percentage is 80-90%, which I know. | My journey in IIT Roorkee. | Because of my JEE advanced score, I got this college through the cap round. The best thing is college did compulsory practicals in real life using projects in the electrical branch. I think he for the electrical branch college should have to arrange some electrical project events to do better. Events and management are fantastic. We are so excited about every event because every event is celebrated with good management and a high budget.

IITR provides state of the art sport facilities in every major sport. | The coarse structure is flexible enough to allow everyone to pursue academic or technical extra curricular. The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Faculty members are very helpful. There are 77 students in our batch, and the college offers dual specialisation. Most of the faculty members teach through presentations. Anyone who wants to pursue for management, higher studies, this branch is good. Some Courses are little outdated, but we get to learn from them. | Placements: We have decent placements in our college. Highest package was offered to CSE branch, average package is of 22LPA . In my college, we have Placement and Internship Cell which handles this entire process. They help to make this process easy for students. | Campus Life: Campus life is awesome in roorkee, especially in spring season.James Thomason building, ECE tower(at night), are main attraction of campus :)

In the first year, we were allotted Rajendra Bhawan for accommodation. There are two students in a room. The hostel provides a mess with hygienic and healthy food. It also provides a common area and free laundry facilities. | Teachers are good and helpful at work. They are very knowledgeable and most of them are Ph.D. holders. Their method of study is very attractive. The course curriculum is quite decent. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are good. They are quite easy and tough too. Almost all sports facilities are available. | Yes, obviously all teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They try their best, but students do not pay full attention, so for that, they face some difficulties. If you want to join the core, then the course is almost relevant, but if you want to join something else, then it is not. | Come to IIT Roorkee, you will enjoy it. | There are two famous fests: one is the technical fest, and the other one is the cultural fest, Thomso.

Sports facilities are also very much available for almost all sports. | Academics: Curriculum is a little outdated, but that goes for almost all IITs, good part is you can opt for minors in any dept. However , some professors are extremely difficult to work with and strict. Research work is good too however not that high. | Placements: Good and smooth experience.95 percents students get placed. Highest package was around 1.2 cr and went to CSE. Average was around 12 lpa for non circuital branches. And for circuital around 15-17 lpa . | Value for Money: Fees is fine but a little high for a government college however scholarship is available for students from economically weaker backgrounds | Campus Life: The culture is just wow. The students make the campus. Had the best time here , late night hangouts, chat sessions,chapo sessions, library time, movie nights.

All the professors here are very helpful and guide us very well. They use the latest teaching methods and adopt relative grading methods. Classrooms were very good. It had a very large library followed by 3 to 4 other libraries. Hostel was great. Hostel life was full of enjoyment. Our college organsied various competitions like inter-hostel level and inter-college level. Food served was great. Medical facilities were the best. Sports and games activities were held in our college. | Teachers in our college were well-qualified, supportive, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality was very good. The course curriculum was relevant and made students ready for industry. Semester exams were a bit difficult but every student was able to pass exams very easily. | It is the best college for students to provide a great career.

It is not much efficient, but sometimes it helps some of our college students for their placements. | There are well-maintained labs, classrooms, library, hospital, and sports infrastructure on campus. The quality of food available in the canteen is better than other colleges. I stay in a single hostel room which has a good open space. I did not face any infrastructure related issues during my tenure at the college. | Some professors are really friendly, and some of them are like living inspiration for many students. They are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is better, and teaching methods like projectors, written notes, etc., are used. It is an awesome college with an amazing campus and is one on the best in India. Though the place Roorkee has nothing interesting to do, the campus is itself self-sufficient to provide you everything you need to live and enjoy. Moreover, when you get bored of your daily hectic routine then there is the whole Uttarakhand to explore. Rishikesh being my favorite, is the most soothing place I have ever seen. The plethora of peace which you get just relaxing by the riverside with no phone signals and no electricity to intervene between you and your peace is amazing. Even for a chillout destination with friends, it’s a good choice. Rest, the facilities which IIT Roorkee provides is far beyond expectations from a government institution. Be it sports, be it tech and cultural fests the benchmark is very high for most of the Indian colleges to attain. The mess food is unimaginably good. Though we get bored of the monotonous food being served, but the quality of food is too good. Apart from all the materialistic things, the environment, and the platform which a student get in IIT Roorkee is its unique selling point. The thought process evolves each year with better minds entering IIT Roorkee each year. If somebody is worried about placements, my only suggestion to him is to just visit IIT Roorkee during the placement season. It’s a fare of companies where each one has the challenge to absorb the best talent as soon as the placement season starts.

Most of the rooms are single and with best facilities. No issue till now but regarding infrastructure. | Yes the teachers are very helpful, qualified, kind and helpful. Teaching quality is very high. Mostly teachers prefer online and with slides. Students and teacher ratio is around 35:1. there are so many ways to get industry exposure. Coming to the sports section, it is excellent and well-maintained. | The teaching staff is highly qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is concept-oriented and very practical. The curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented. Semester exams are tough, but grading is very fair. The pass percentage is around 98% with regular attendance and effort. | My journey and experience at IITR. | I chose computer science because I had a strong interest in coding and problem-solving. In the course they deal with different types of business models and how to become innovator and entrepreneur. The Wi-Fi is available and has decent speed across the campus. The classrooms are now updated to smart classrooms in some departments. The hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls separately. The mess food of the boys' hostel is good. I don't know about the girls' hostel. The medical facilities are also available, but I have not experienced them yet. | Teachers of my department are highly educated and experienced. The teaching quality of all my department teachers is top-notch. All of them try to make us understand a topic in the best possible way. The course curriculum is obviously very much relevant. The students become highly industry-ready with this curriculum. The semester exams, according to me, are neither so easy nor so difficult. It brings me joy whenever they occur, and I feel they try to bring out the best in me. All the facilities are educated from top IITs and NIT . They helped us in many ways. . And sometimes we have to do the examination duty in our college. | Placements: Almost 100% of students are placed in any field. But in PhD we have to do the thesis and research. And at least one paper should be published in our course. Stipend is provided by the government and according to the projects .

The highest package offered was 1.21 crores from Google USA, the lowest being 5 LPA, and the average is 12 LPA. Almost all the leading software companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Linkedin etc and many Indian startups and well-established companies such as Flipkart, Ola, Uber, Rivigo, CDOT and much more. And for internships, we have 95% students who got offers. The highest stipend was offered by Goldman Sachs and Ola cabs which are Rs.60000 per month and the least was offered by Reliance Jio which is Rs.6000 per month. The average is around Rs.15000 per month. | In our IIT-Roorkee Campus, we have got some very great infrastructure such as :- 1) We have very comfortable classrooms and they are spacious too with 6 air-conditioners, projectors, UPS and whatnot. 2) Various sports facilities such as badminton court, swimming pool, squash court, tennis court, 2 big grounds for playing hockey, cricket and basketball. 3) Our canteen provides the best quality and also one of the cheapest rates in the country. 4) Our hostel rooms are pretty good. I am in my fourth year now and I have got a single room since my first year of college. 5) We have got a great library with many available books and also computer labs. 6) Our Internet speed is 90 Mbps which is one of the fastest in the country compared to any other colleges. 7) Personally, I did not face any issues regarding anything in my college. | The faculty members were pretty good, but mostly we get to study just 1 or 2 days before the exams. We can always contact the faculty members for any related doubts through e-mail or on Facebook. They are friendly with all the students. Also, 90% of the faculty members have done their education(B.Tech or M.Tech or PhD) in IITs and also some have got their degree from prestigious foreign universities as well. Per department, there were around 10 faculty members and 75 students. The course subjects were extremely useful as they give the real idea of how the things actually work in the real life in the corresponding area of subject and help a student to get adequate industrial knowledge and move on further in the respective field. | An excellent college where one learns a lot in his engineering lifetime | IIT-Roorkee has got greenery everywhere and cleanliness is the first priority here. The campus is covered in 365 acres and I like the winter season here. So overall, the teaching faculty team is good and so are the placements. Also, we have got strong alumni which keep on helping in our career-making decisions.

The average salary package offered is 1.5 crore in quant trading, and the minimum salary package offered is 75 LPA. The maximum salary package offered is 1 crore off-campus. The top tech companies and HFT companies visit our campus for placements. | The course structure of our program is well developed and maintained by our professors. Students will always find it interesting to learn the things being taught in academics. Wi-Fi is available 24X7 on the whole campus with an average speed of 10-20 Mbps, and in some areas, it goes to 60-65 Mbps. LAN speed in each room is excellent, i.e 950-980 Mbps, and in one of my friend's rooms, it is sometimes 2.4 to 3 Gbps. IITR always support sports, students can find and play any kind of outdoor or indoor sport they love to play. The sports culture is excellent, and the hospital is available 24X7. The mess food is very good, but for freshers, it is not good as for other hostlers. The canteen has a variety of items, and it is available from 2:00 AM to 2: 00 PM and 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM respectively. | The course curriculum is relevant to one's branch, apart from this, students also get to learn some important courses of other branches as well. Teachers are well qualified and they are experienced. Many of them have taken degrees from foreign universities like France, Britain, and Germany. The teaching quality is good but for some, it is like listening to Sanskrit from English. The semester exams are good, and some professors also add their extra strictness by varying the numerical values in the question for every specific student. But being IITians, the score is decent. | It is one of the best colleges in all aspects and the facilities are commendable. | I love computer science and physics both, but I could not get a good rank in JEE adv so I chose EPH. In this program, students get to learn about courses from almost all the branches and quality content in pure physics which is good. EPH branch is not present in all IITs, it is still new and students are getting increased in the branch year by year. In our seniors' time, they has only 27, then went to 35 and it is now 51. The events and fests are good. Everything is well decorated in this college, the variety of food is good, and impressive personalities are there. There is an exciting crowd that makes it more special. The natural beauty and cleanliness of the surroundings are good. Students can avail a variety of scholarships and schemes for their benefit.

The speed of the internet facility provided in IIT Roorkee is the fastest in the entire country, and the speed of LAN facility is around 1 Gbps. The speed of Wi-Fi is more than 40 Mbps. Classrooms and library are well-equipped, and the library is open 24x7. The library contains computers, and you can access them at any time. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. | Faculty members here are the best, and most of them are PhD holders and have a fair amount of experience. Compared to IITs, there is the best rating for teaching staff members of our college. They are experts in their field, but one thing is they don't spoon-feed you. Other than that, lab staff members are also professional. The top recruiting companies that I know are Tata Power, Cisco, Siemens Energy, etc. In IIT Roorkee, 70-80% of students got internships from the electrical department in companies like Texas Instruments and Tata Power. My senior friends are currently doing internships in the above-mentioned companies. | In our college hostel, Wi-Fi is not available. Labs are good but so old. Classrooms are best upgraded and added with some digital equipment for teaching. The library is good. It is peaceful and no one will disturb us because rules are so strict. It has the best quality hostels but the quality of food is sometimes not so good so we have to manage it for some time. Medical facilities are also available, and a first aid kit is available. The canteen structure is so good and impressive. Sports ground is very large and the college is so supportive of sports. | All teachers are PhD holders and aged. Some teachers are supportive and helpful but some are very strict. But all are knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good sometimes but it is okay. Difficulty level of semester exams is hard. The pass percentage is 80-90%, which I know. | My journey in IIT Roorkee. | Because of my JEE advanced score, I got this college through the cap round. The best thing is college did compulsory practicals in real life using projects in the electrical branch. I think he for the electrical branch college should have to arrange some electrical project events to do better. Events and management are fantastic. We are so excited about every event because every event is celebrated with good management and a high budget.

Highest package was around 1.2 cr and went to CSE. Average was around 12 lpa for non circuital branches. Though the place Roorkee has nothing interesting to do, the campus is itself self-sufficient to provide you everything you need to live and enjoy. Moreover, when you get bored of your daily hectic routine then there is the whole Uttarakhand to explore. Rishikesh being my favorite, is the most soothing place I have ever seen. The plethora of peace which you get just relaxing by the riverside with no phone signals and no electricity to intervene between you and your peace is amazing. Even for a chillout destination with friends, it’s a good choice. Rest, the facilities which IIT Roorkee provides is far beyond expectations from a government institution. Be it sports, be it tech and cultural fests the benchmark is very high for most of the Indian colleges to attain. The mess food is unimaginably good. Though we get bored of the monotonous food being served, but the quality of food is too good. Apart from all the materialistic things, the environment, and the platform which a student get in IIT Roorkee is its unique selling point. The thought process evolves each year with better minds entering IIT Roorkee each year. If somebody is worried about placements, my only suggestion to him is to just visit IIT Roorkee during the placement season. It’s a fare of companies where each one has the challenge to absorb the best talent as soon as the placement season starts.

The hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls separately. The mess food of the boys' hostel is good. I don't know about the girls' hostel. The medical facilities are also available, but I have not experienced them yet. | Teachers of my department are highly educated and experienced. Almost all the leading software companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Linkedin etc and many Indian startups and well-established companies such as Flipkart, Ola, Uber, Rivigo, CDOT and much more. And for internships, we have 95% students who got offers. The highest stipend was offered by Goldman Sachs and Ola cabs which are Rs.60000 per month and the least was offered by Reliance Jio which is Rs.6000 per month. The average is around Rs.15000 per month. | In our IIT-Roorkee Campus, we have got some very great infrastructure such as :- 1) We have very comfortable classrooms and they are spacious too with 6 air-conditioners, projectors, UPS and whatnot. 2) Various sports facilities such as badminton court, swimming pool, squash court, tennis court, 2 big grounds for playing hockey, cricket and basketball. 3) Our canteen provides the best quality and also one of the cheapest rates in the country. 4) Our hostel rooms are pretty good. I am in my fourth year now and I have got a single room since my first year of college. 5) We have got a great library with many available books and also computer labs. 6) Our Internet speed is 90 Mbps which is one of the fastest in the country compared to any other colleges. 7) Personally, I did not face any issues regarding anything in my college. | The faculty members were pretty good, but mostly we get to study just 1 or 2 days before the exams. We can always contact the faculty members for any related doubts through e-mail or on Facebook. They are friendly with all the students. Also, 90% of the faculty members have done their education(B.Tech or M.Tech or PhD) in IITs and also some have got their degree from prestigious foreign universities as well. Per department, there were around 10 faculty members and 75 students. The course subjects were extremely useful as they give the real idea of how the things actually work in the real life in the corresponding area of subject and help a student to get adequate industrial knowledge and move on further in the respective field. | An excellent college where one learns a lot in his engineering lifetime | IIT-Roorkee has got greenery everywhere and cleanliness is the first priority here. The campus is covered in 365 acres and I like the winter season here. So overall, the teaching faculty team is good and so are the placements. Students will always find it interesting to learn the things being taught in academics. Wi-Fi is available 24X7 on the whole campus with an average speed of 10-20 Mbps, and in some areas, it goes to 60-65 Mbps. LAN speed in each room is excellent, i.e 950-980 Mbps, and in one of my friend's rooms, it is sometimes 2.4 to 3 Gbps. IITR always support sports, students can find and play any kind of outdoor or indoor sport they love to play. The sports culture is excellent, and the hospital is available 24X7. The mess food is very good, but for freshers, it is not good as for other hostlers. The canteen has a variety of items, and it is available from 2:00 AM to 2: 00 PM and 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM respectively. | The course curriculum is relevant to one's branch, apart from this, students also get to learn some important courses of other branches as well. Teachers are well qualified and they are experienced. Many of them have taken degrees from foreign universities like France, Britain, and Germany. The teaching quality is good but for some, it is like listening to Sanskrit from English. The semester exams are good, and some professors also add their extra strictness by varying the numerical values in the question for every specific student. But being IITians, the score is decent. | It is one of the best colleges in all aspects and the facilities are commendable. | I love computer science and physics both, but I could not get a good rank in JEE adv so I chose EPH. In this program, students get to learn about courses from almost all the branches and quality content in pure physics which is good. EPH branch is not present in all IITs, it is still new and students are getting increased in the branch year by year. In our seniors' time, they has only 27, then went to 35 and it is now 51. The events and fests are good. Everything is well decorated in this college, the variety of food is good, and impressive personalities are there. There is an exciting crowd that makes it more special. The natural beauty and cleanliness of the surroundings are good. Students can avail a variety of scholarships and schemes for their benefit.
