National Institute of Technology Goa (NITG) admissions are entrance-based. NIT Goa admissions are offered to B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD in various specialisations. Check the details of the NIT Goa course admissions below.
NIT Goa admissions are offered based on performance in the entrance exam. Entrance Exams for NIT Goa Admissions: JEE Main for B.Tech and GATE for MTech admissions. NIT Goa conducts an entrance exam for NON-GATE candidates.
National Institute of Technology Goa Counselling: JoSAA counselling is conducted for BTech admissions. CSAB counselling is conducted if seats are vacant after JoSAA counselling. CCMT counselling is conducted for MTech admission.
JEE Main Session 2 result has been announced on April 20, 2026. CCMT 2026 registrations for MTech Admissions are expected to start in May 2026. As per the NIT Goa B.Tech admission criteria, one should qualify for JEE Main, and then they need to register with JoSAA to participate in the counselling process for seat allotment.

NIT Goa BTech Admission Process
Candidates need to apply and appear in JEE Main and qualify for it. Qualifying candidates have to register and participate in the JoSAA counselling. Candidates have to choose the National Institute of Technology Goa as their preferred college during the choice filling.

NIT Goa admissions are open. All the latest updates regarding NIT Goa admissions are as follows: The last date to apply for PhD is Sep 30, 2026 . The XAT 2026 result is out for admission to the MBA/PGDM courses. Students need to log in to the official XAT portal to access and download their scorecard. The GATE 2026 exam has been concluded for ME/MTech admission. The JEE Main 2026 session 2 result has been announced on the official website for admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The GATE CCMT 2026 counselling registration for admission to the MTech course is ongoing, with the last date for the same being Jun 5, 2026 .

Goa Shipyard Ltd. Scholarship Scheme for Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe/ Other Backward Classes students in Goa Eligibility: The Scheme shall apply to all SC/ ST/ OBC who are residents of the state of Goa and also pursuing their studies in the state of Goa. To become eligible, the annual income of their parents of the Students should not exceed Rs.1,50,000/- per annum for Technical Diploma & equivalent, Non-Technical degree courses (i.e. B A, B Com, & B Sc.), and Rs.1,50,000/- per annum for Engineering, Medical Degree Courses & equivalent and courses like MBA, Nursing, BBA etc. The residents of Goa, who are studying in places other than the state of Goa, shall not be eligible for the scheme. However, the students who wish to pursue professional courses and secure admission in Engineering, Medical college/institute under State quota as per State/ Central Govt. Policy in any other State will become eligible for the Scholarship on submission of necessary document/certificate from the appropriate Authority. Conditions: 1. The students who have passed XII/Xth or equivalent examinations in March/April every year with 60% marks and have secured admission for the degree courses recognized by the state Govt/Govt of India. in Arts, Science, Commerce or degree/diploma in Engineering and Medical on a full-time basis, shall be eligible to apply for the Scholarship. Scholarships will not be granted to the Students who pursue Degree Courses /Diploma Courses through Distance Education/Correspondence Courses. 2. The selected Student shall be granted financial assistance up to the completion of the technical diploma, Graduation including Engineering, Medical degree, subject to satisfactory progress in the intervening year i.e. obtaining minimum 50% marks and passing in all subjects in one attempt. The student shall not be eligible to receive this financial assistance/scholarship if he receives financial assistance/ Scholarship through any other Schemes.

Post Matric Scholarship by Directorate of Tribal Welfare: The Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship is available for studies in India only and is awarded by the State Government to which the applicant actually belongs. The Scholarships are available for the study of all recognized Post- Matriculation or post-Secondary courses in Government recognized institutions except certain identified training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Courses, Private Pilot License courses etc. Eligibility: Scholarships are available to the students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Fifty Thousand) per annum. All students should apply for the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme through NSP Portal.
