JEE Main 2027: made a mistake in your session 1 form? NTA now lets you file a fresh one by 22 November
NTA will accept a fresh JEE Main 2027 session 1 application even from candidates who have already paid. Only the last form with a successful fee payment and a confirmation page counts. The earlier fee is not refunded or adjusted, so for small fixes NTA points you to the 27 to 29 November correction window instead.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed its rule on duplicate JEE Main forms. In a public notice dated 30 October 2026, it says candidates who made errors in the JEE (Main) 2027 session 1 form may submit a fresh application, even if they have already generated an application number or paid the fee. NTA says it acted after candidates wrote in about mistakes made while filling the form that opened on 24 October.

The rules for a fresh form
- Only the last fee-paid form counts. NTA will treat as valid only the most recent form for which the fee went through and the confirmation page was generated.
- An unfinished fresh form changes nothing. If you start a new form but do not pay and generate the confirmation page, your earlier completed form stays valid.
- Everything is entered again. Each fresh form gets a new application number, and you upload your photograph, signature and documents again.
- The old fee is lost. It is neither refunded nor set against the new form.
- One attempt per session. Holding more than one application number is not by itself treated as unfair means. Appearing, or trying to appear, on more than one application number is, and NTA will act under the information bulletin.
Dates that apply
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Fresh form, including fee payment | By 22 November 2026, 11:50 pm |
| Fresh form with late fee | 23 to 26 November 2026, until 11:50 pm |
| Correction window for existing forms | 27 to 29 November 2026 |
Fresh form or correction window?
NTA's own advice is to use the correction window if you only need to change some details, since a fresh form costs a second fee. The catch is that the correction window is a one-time facility and covers only the fields NTA enables. The information bulletin says the list of correctable fields will be published only when the window opens, and that a disability (PwD/PwBD) claim cannot be raised after it closes. The bulletin also warned that multiple forms would be rejected; the 30 October notice now allows a fresh form, with the last fee-paid one counting.
What to do now: open your confirmation page and compare your name, date of birth, category, and exam city choices against your Class 10 certificate and category certificate. If something is wrong and you decide to start over, finish the new form and pay before 22 November. Keep the new confirmation page and note which application number is live.
