UPSSSC PET moves to 25 October, 30 October and 1 November

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has changed the dates of the written Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 in a notice dated 25 September 2026 (Advertisement No. 16-Exam/2026).

Old and new dates

• Earlier: 23, 24 and 25 October 2026.
• Now: 25 October, 30 October and 1 November 2026.
• Shifts: 10 am to 12 noon and 3 to 5 pm on each day.

The change was made because polling for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council biennial election is scheduled for 23 October.

Why PET matters

PET is the screening test for Group C recruitment in Uttar Pradesh. Its score is what lets you apply for the individual recruitment exams the commission holds over the following period, so missing it can shut you out of a whole cycle of state jobs.

What to do

Admit cards and district intimation slips will be issued on upsssc.gov.in; the commission will announce their dates separately. If you had booked travel for 23 or 24 October, rebook now. The new dates are spread over eight days, and your shift and district will only be known from the admit card.
