What ACPC is and which courses it admits to

ACPC is the Gujarat government body that runs online admission to professional courses. It works from the Directorate of Technical Education and runs its process on gujacpc.admissions.nic.in, with notices on acpc.gujarat.gov.in. Its authority comes from the Gujarat Professional Technical Educational Colleges or Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007.

This guide covers degree engineering (BE/BTech) after Class 12 Science. ACPC runs separate streams for degree and diploma pharmacy, diploma-to-degree engineering, architecture, hotel and tourism management, and MBA/MCA. Each has its own schedule on the portal.

How the 2026-27 cycle ran

ACPC published a key dates sheet on 31 March 2026. It says the dates were provisional and could change with board results, entrance results and JoSAA counselling. Later notices show how the rounds actually ran.

Registration fee. ACPC charged ₹350, non-refundable, paid online. It does not use a scratch-card PIN. You could register before your board and GUJCET results came out.

Document verification. There was no help-centre visit. The advertisement says no document had to be submitted or verified in person, and candidates did not hand original documents to institutes. You upload scans and ACPC verifies them online. Candidates without internet could use designated cyber space centres free of charge, from 11 am to 5 pm on working days.

Fee after allotment. In each round you pay a token tuition fee online to confirm. If you do not confirm in the window, the allotment is cancelled. ACPC says an institute can charge only one semester's fee, and the full semester fee is paid at the institute after the online process ends. Helpline: 079-26566000.

How merit is made

For 95% of seats in government and grant-in-aid colleges and 50% of seats in self-financed colleges, the merit number is built like this, as the 2026 advertisement states:

  • 50% weight on the theory percentile from your Class 12 board in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (Biology for eligible branches).
  • 50% weight on the GUJCET percentile in the matching subjects.

This is the 50:50 rule from the Education Department resolution of 7 July 2021. The older 2020 rule book prints a 60:40 split. The 2021 resolution replaced it, and the 2022 resolution kept its provisions in place.

Eligibility. At least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) in the subjects AICTE prescribes. The student must have studied at a school of a recognised board in Gujarat and appeared in GUJCET of the same year.

JEE Main seats. 5% of seats in government and grant-in-aid colleges go to candidates from any recognised board in India who appeared in JEE Main. Their merit is the All India Rank. Management seats in self-financed colleges use JEE Main or GUJCET as the institute announced.

Other boards. Percentile files for CBSE and ISCE were published for 2026 alongside GSEB. The rules say that where a board gives no percentile, seats are shared between the boards that have one and those that do not, pro rata.

Tie-break. Equal merit marks are ordered by Class 12 percentage marks in this order: Mathematics and Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology, Physics and Chemistry or Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology, English, then aggregate.

Improvement and supplementary exams. If you improve your board result, ACPC revises the merit list and places you in the next online round. A supplementary-exam candidate is eligible only for vacancies left after seats go to the earlier merit list.

Reservation and fee waiver

The Gujarat rules reserve seats for candidates of Gujarat origin as follows:

CategoryShare
Scheduled Castes (SC)7%
Scheduled Tribes (ST)15%
Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC)27%
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)10%

Persons with benchmark disability get 5% of seats in each category. Children of defence personnel and ex-servicemen get 1% of available seats. Reserved seats left empty move to the unreserved category.

TFWS (Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme). Up to 5% of intake can be filled as supernumerary seats for candidates whose parents' income is ₹8 lakh a year or less, in colleges where at least 30% of sanctioned seats are filled. The seat matrix shows TFWS seats separately, and the cut-off files list them as a separate category.

Seat matrix: how big is the pool?

The provisional GUJCET (Home State) seat matrix dated 21 June 2026 lists 140 institutes. Intake is subject to AICTE and university approval.

  • Government and grant-in-aid: 20 institutes, 11,353 seats.
  • Self-financed colleges and universities: 120 institutes, about 72,700 seats.
  • All together: about 84,000 seats.

Self-financed rows also carry management, JEE and NRI seats, so not every seat is open to the GUJCET merit list. A separate provisional JEE Main (All India) seat matrix was posted the same day. The final numbers shift as institutes get approval.

Closing merit ranks at the most-searched colleges

Which round and year. These are 2026 ranks, Round 3, from ACPC's "Rank Wise Cut-off: Round 3" file for First Year Degree Engineering 2026-27. Category is OPEN, board GUJCET. The rank is the last rank allotted in that round, so it is a closing rank for that round, not a guarantee for next year. Rank 1 is the top merit number.

How to read it.

  • Some rows are wide. The same file shows L.D. Computer Engineering with a first rank of 223 and a last rank of 607 in Round 3. Self-financed rows can span a much larger range, for example SCET Computer Engineering from 3,004 to 9,183, because those colleges also fill seats from other merit lists.
  • The cut-off file has separate lines for TFWS, EWS, SC, ST and SEBC. The full file is on the eServices page.
  • Later files, such as the last admitted ranks after the vacant-seat rounds, differ from Round 3. The eServices page has each one.
  • Ranks move each year with GUJCET difficulty and board scores. Use them to build a spread of choices, not a target.

SVNIT is not on ACPC. Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat does not appear in ACPC's seat matrix. See its page on CareerBox: SVNIT Surat.

Fees: what the Fee Regulatory Committee says

Self-financed engineering colleges cannot set their own fee. The Fee Regulatory Committee (Technical), under the Government of Gujarat, sets a ceiling fee per institute and course, in rupees per year, and ACPC's note says no college can charge above it. The committee's own conditions say:

  • The fee is binding for three years and holds for a student until the course ends.
  • It includes tuition, library, laboratory, computer, caution money, gymkhana, internet, sports and university affiliation fees.
  • A college cannot collect the whole course fee up front. Fees are taken per semester.
  • A college cannot ask for a bank guarantee or security.

What the 2026-27 seat matrix lists. ACPC's provisional seat matrix of 21 June 2026 prints a tuition fee for 2026-27 against each institute. For the colleges in the rank table above:

CollegeTuition fee for 2026-27 in the seat matrix

Scholarships tied to this route

Gujarat's two main student schemes cover engineering students admitted through ACPC. Read our guides to the MYSY scholarship and the Digital Gujarat scholarship for eligibility and dates. The TFWS seats above are a separate fee waiver and are claimed during ACPC registration.

What to expect for 2027-28

Not announced as of 24 October 2026. The schedule page on the ACPC portal shows only the 2026-27 key dates sheet, and no 2027-28 advertisement, fee or date is published.

The 2026-27 cycle opened on 30 March 2026. Treat that as last year's pattern, not a promise. GUJCET sets half of your merit, so the first thing to track is GUJCET 2027. See our GUJCET 2027 guide and the GSEB board exam 2027 guide.

What to do now

  • Keep Class 12 Science marksheets and category and income certificates ready as scans.
  • Check each college's branch cut-off in ACPC's analysis files before you rank choices.
  • Fill choices in the order you really prefer them, and take part in every round you want to improve in.
  • Your seat comes only from the allotment on your own ACPC login.
