The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board’s calendar for 2026-27 sets out every term, break and exam window for the year that began on 8 June. Here are the dates worth putting in the diary now.
Terms and vacations
- First semester: 8 June to 4 November 2026 (120 teaching days)
- Diwali break: 5 to 25 November 2026 (21 days)
- Second semester: 26 November 2026 to 2 May 2027 (124 teaching days)
- Summer vacation: 3 May to 6 June 2027 (35 days)
That adds up to 244 working days, with 20 public holidays, 4 local holidays and 80 holidays in total excluding Sundays.
Exam windows
- First tests, Classes 9 to 12: 22 October to 2 November 2026
- Preliminary exams, Classes 10 to 12: 18 to 28 January 2027
- Class 12 science practicals: 5 to 13 February 2027
- Board exams, Classes 10 and 12: 25 February to 17 March 2027
- Annual exams, Classes 9 to 11: 5 to 20 April 2027
With the first tests now six weeks away, this is the point at which Class 10 and 12 students should have the June-to-October syllabus mapped against the board’s blueprint.
