Gujarat TAT (Higher Secondary) 2026 mains result: 16,887 of 47,644 Gujarati medium candidates qualify, and rechecking opens on 18 November
The State Examination Board has declared the Gujarati medium result of the Teacher Aptitude Test (Higher Secondary) 2026 mains, held on 8 August. Only 16,887 of the 47,644 candidates who sat it reached the merit line of 120 out of 200 for the general category or 110 for other categories. Applications to recheck marks run from 18 to 21 November 2026.

The State Examination Board (SEB), Gandhinagar has published the mains result of the Teacher Aptitude Test (Higher Secondary), TAT-HS 2026, for Gujarati medium candidates. The notice is dated 6 November 2026. TAT-HS is the qualification you need to be appointed as a teacher in Gujarat's registered higher secondary schools.
The test now has two levels. The preliminary was held on 12 April 2026 and its result came out on 16 June, when 50,066 Gujarati medium candidates qualified for the mains. The mains was held on 8 August 2026.
How many made it
| Registered for the mains | Appeared | Absent | Qualified | Did not qualify |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50,066 | 47,644 | 2,422 | 16,887 | 30,754 |
That is a little over a third of those who sat the paper.

The merit line
Under the Education Department's resolution of 27 January 2026, a general category candidate needs at least 60% in the mains, which is 120 out of 200, to be included in the merit list. SC, ST, SEBC, EWS and candidates with disabilities need at least 55%, or 110 out of 200.
The board also published how the scores spread out:
- 110 or more: 18,057 candidates
- 120 or more: 9,006
- 140 or more: 870
- 160 or more: 11
- 170 or more: none
Check your result, and recheck if you need to
Your result is on sebexam.org; you need your seat number and date of birth. If you think your marks are wrong, you can apply online to have them checked between 18 and 21 November 2026. The board says it will post the steps on its website before then.
Passing TAT-HS is not a job offer. Your personal details, qualifications and other documents will be checked by the teacher recruitment selection committee at the hiring stage, and its decision is final. The board also notes that all exam material will be disposed of three months after the result, so raise any query well before that.
What to do now: download your result, save a copy, and note your mains score. If you are close to 110 or 120, consider the rechecking window from 18 November.
