CBSE date sheet 2027 is out: Class 10 exams from 16 February to 9 March, Class 12 from 16 February to 9 April

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, 2027. The circular, signed by the Controller of Examinations, is dated 6 November 2026, which CBSE says is 101 days before the first paper.

The dates

• Class 10: Tuesday 16 February to Tuesday 9 March 2027, across 83 subjects.
• Class 12: Tuesday 16 February to Friday 9 April 2027, across 121 subjects.
• Timing: every paper starts at 10:30 am. Most end at 1:30 pm; some skill, music, dance and art papers end at 12:30 pm.
• Candidates: over 26.5 lakh students have registered for Class 10 and over 19.8 lakh for Class 12.

How CBSE built the schedule

The board says it used the final List of Candidates sent by schools, checked more than 40,000 subject combinations so that no student has two papers on the same day, left gaps between subjects that are commonly taken together, and planned around the tentative dates of the major entrance exams so that Class 12 boards finish before them. Class 12 science students finish Mathematics on 9 March and Biology on 25 March; JEE Main 2027 session 2 is scheduled for 2 to 7 April (see our JEE Main 2027 guide).

The date sheet covers the main exams only. CBSE has not yet announced dates for the second Class 10 board exam in May 2027 or for admit cards. The notes on the date sheet say important instructions will be issued separately, and no communication devices are allowed inside exam centres.
