UGC NET December 2026: the one-time correction window shuts at 11:50 pm on 4 November, and not every field can be changed

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the correction window for UGC NET December 2026. Its public notice dated 2 November 2026 gives candidates from 2 November to 11:50 pm on Wednesday, 4 November 2026 to fix their application forms on ugcnet.nta.nic.in. NTA says this is the only chance: no correction will be accepted after 4 November.

The rules that catch people out

  • One submission only. Once you submit corrections, the form is frozen. Make every change in one go.
  • Extra fee if the change costs more. If a correction raises your fee, for example a category change from SC to General, you pay the difference by card, net banking or UPI, and the change counts only after that payment goes through. Fees already paid are not refunded if the new fee is lower.
  • Disability claims end with this window. The information bulletin says UDID verification mismatches can be fixed only in the correction window and that no PwD or PwBD claim will be entertained after it closes.

Under the bulletin, the fee is ₹1,150 for general candidates, ₹600 for General-EWS and OBC-NCL, and ₹325 for SC, ST, third gender and PwD or PwBD candidates.

Also from NTA: a one-day fee extension

Separately, a notice dated 1 November let candidates who had submitted the form by 31 October but had not paid complete the fee until 11:50 pm on 1 November. Registration and image upload were not reopened. If your fee did not go through by then, your form does not count, and the correction window cannot fix that.
