IGNOU December 2026 exams run from 25 November to 14 January: submit assignments by 31 October, hall tickets next
IGNOU’s revised tentative date sheet puts the December 2026 term-end exams between 25 November 2026 and 14 January 2027, in two daily sessions. Assignments for the exam are due by 31 October, and hall tickets will be posted on the university site.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has published a revised tentative date sheet for its December 2026 Term-End Examination (TEE) for both ODL and online programmes. The sheet, dated 5 October 2026, runs the papers from 25 November 2026 to 14 January 2027. Two deadlines still matter: assignments are due by 31 October, and hall tickets are next.

The exam window and timings
- Dates: 25 November 2026 to 14 January 2027, course by course.
- Sessions: morning 10 am to 1 pm, evening 2 pm to 5 pm. The actual length of each paper is printed on the question paper.
- Objective papers: some courses use an MCQ/OMR format, including BSHF101 and FST01, BEVAE181 and BSSS183 in the CBCS bachelor’s programmes, and DECE01 to DECE03.
- No clash requests for grouped courses. Courses in the same group under the old BDP, CBCS and FYUP schemes are held at the same date and time on purpose, and IGNOU says it will not entertain requests to change dates for them.
Where things stand
| Step | Status |
|---|---|
| Exam form | Closed. The no-late-fee window ended on 7 October and the ₹1,100 late-fee window on 15 October. |
| Assignments (hard and soft copies), ODL and online, including GOAL and EVBB | Due by 31 October 2026 |
| Hall tickets | To be posted on ignou.ac.in. No date announced yet (as of 19 October 2026). |
Why the assignment deadline matters
The date sheet makes your permission to sit the exam provisional. It holds only if your registration for the course is valid, you have submitted the required assignments on time, you have completed the minimum study period and you have paid the exam fee for every course. If any condition is not met, the result of all such courses will not be declared.
What to do now
- Download the revised date sheet from ignou.ac.in and mark every course code you are taking, with its date and session.
- Submit all pending assignments by 31 October, in the mode your regional centre asks for, and keep the receipt.
- Keep checking ignou.ac.in for the hall ticket link and read the centre details carefully once it is out. The university warns that centres can change at the last minute.
- Write your answers only in a language your programme is offered in. Scripts in any other language are cancelled, though you may choose Hindi for most non-language courses.
