NEET PG answer key is being published for the first time, and the result is due 30 September
NBEMS will release the NEET PG 2026 answer key along with each candidate’s recorded responses at natboard.edu.in, the first time it has done so. It follows a Supreme Court order on transparency; over 2.65 lakh candidates sat the exam on 30 August.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences will publish the NEET PG 2026 answer key together with each candidate's recorded responses on natboard.edu.in. It is the first time the board has done this for NEET PG.
Why this is a change worth noticing
For years NEET PG candidates received a score and a rank and no way to see the arithmetic behind either. The Supreme Court's order of 29 April 2025 in SLP No. 9298 of 2018 required transparency in the conduct of the examination, and this release is the operational consequence. The response sheet is to carry question ID numbers, the correct answer, the candidate's own marked response and the marks awarded per question, which is enough to reconstruct your own score line by line.
The dates that matter
- 30 August 2026: the exam, taken by over 2.65 lakh candidates
- 5 September 2026: a re-exam for Jaipur candidates affected by a power disruption
- Answer key and response sheet: to be published at natboard.edu.in; log in with your application number and password
- 30 September 2026: declaration of the result
What to do when it goes live
Download and save both the key and your response sheet the day they appear. These links have a habit of being pulled once the result is declared, and a saved PDF is the only record you will have if a discrepancy surfaces during counselling. Then check three things in order: that the response sheet is actually yours (name, roll number, test centre), that no question shows a blank where you remember answering, and that the marks awarded per question add up to your total. A challenge, where the board permits one, has to point at a specific question ID with a reason. A general complaint about difficulty goes nowhere.
Counselling for MD, MS and DNB seats follows the result, covering the 50% all-India quota, state quotas, private colleges and armed forces institutions.
