Cleared a GPSC prelim but missed the mains? From 31 October you can share your details with employers through Avsar
The Gujarat Public Service Commission has opened its Avsar module to candidates who passed the screening test of a Class 1 or Class 2 recruitment in the last five years but did not clear the mains. With consent, GPSC shares your name, mobile, email and qualification with government bodies and approved companies. Talks are on for about 4,000 posts with one state department.

The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has widened Avsar, the module it built to pass the details of near-miss candidates on to other employers. Under a notice dated 29 October 2026, candidates who cleared the preliminary (screening) test of any GPSC Class 1 or Class 2 competitive recruitment in the last five years, counted up to 31 October 2026, but did not clear the main written exam, can now join. GPSC asks them to register on the Avsar module as soon as possible after 31 October.

Who was covered before, and who is covered now
| Group | Covered by Avsar? |
|---|---|
| Candidates unsuccessful in the final result of a GPSC Class 1 or Class 2 recruitment completed in the last five years | Yes, since the launch notice of 17 July 2026 |
| Candidates on the waiting list of such a recruitment | Yes, since 17 July 2026 |
| Candidates who cleared the prelim but not the mains, in the last five years up to 31 October 2026 | Yes, from the 29 October 2026 notice |
Has anyone been placed yet?
GPSC's notices of 17 October and 29 October report three leads so far:
- The Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) asked for candidates with technical qualifications, and GPSC has sent it recommendations.
- A state government department has proposed taking candidates for about 4,000 posts. GPSC says discussions are still going on. The notices do not name the department.
- Two private companies have asked for candidate details. GPSC says it is still considering those requests.
None of this is a job offer. Each employer runs its own selection after it receives the list.
How to register
- Open the Avsar page on GPSC-OJAS (Candidate Corner, then Avsar, on gpsc.gujarat.gov.in).
- Select the year of the advertisement you appeared for. The portal then lists that year's advertisements.
- Enter the advertisement number and your confirmation number. If you have lost the confirmation number, the portal has a recovery option.
- Confirm with the OTP sent to the mobile number and email you registered with GPSC. Consent is complete only after the OTP. This stops anyone else from signing you up.
For future recruitments, GPSC says it will ask for this consent in the application form itself.
What GPSC shares, and what it does not promise
- Only four details go out: your name, mobile number, email ID and educational qualification.
- Only government departments, public sector undertakings and private companies that GPSC has approved get access. Each must give an undertaking to use the data only to offer employment and not to pass it on.
- GPSC acts as a channel only. It takes no responsibility for the pay, job terms, service rules or any legal dispute with an employer you hear from.
- GPSC can change the Avsar rules at any time.
What to do now: find the confirmation number of the recruitment where you cleared the prelim, check that your registered mobile and email still work, and register after 31 October. Keep writing the exams you are preparing for. Upcoming GPSC dates are in our GPSC calendar 2026 guide.
