GPSC Veterinary Officer prelim results: 807, 334 and 36 candidates cleared for document checks in three recruitments

The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has declared the preliminary test results for three Veterinary Officer, Class 2 recruitments. Each result is a list of seat numbers of candidates who are eligible for application scrutiny, the stage where the Commission checks certificates before calling people for interview. The prelim had two papers: General Studies on 9 August 2026, held together with 34 other advertisements, and the subject paper on 30 May 2026, common to all three.

The three lists

2/2026-27Forest and Environment Department29 October 2026334
128/2025-26Various municipal corporations28 October 202636

The lists carry seat numbers from the common subject paper, so search them with that seat number. Many candidates applied for more than one of these advertisements, and the same seat number appears on two or even all three lists.

This is not the merit list

GPSC says each list is a "zone of consideration", not a merit list. It is drawn by category from the marks of the last candidate needed. How many are called depends on the number of posts in each category:

Posts in a categoryCalled for scrutiny (no experience needed)Called for scrutiny (experience needed)
11216
22225
3 or more4 times the posts, or 25, whichever is higher6 times the posts, or 32, whichever is higher

If too few people on the list turn out to meet the qualification, experience and age rules, GPSC may add more names in merit order. Candidates tied on marks with the last person in a category are also included. Final selection is on 50% prelim marks and 50% interview marks.

How the papers were marked

The final answer key for the subject paper, dated 28 October 2026, cancels questions 3 and 130 and changes the answers to questions 65, 70, 138, 145, 151, 180 and 184. GPSC spreads the marks of cancelled questions over the rest:

  • General Studies (4 questions cancelled): 1.042 marks for each right answer and 0.313 taken off for each wrong one.
  • Subject paper (2 questions cancelled): 1.010 marks for each right answer and 0.303 taken off for each wrong one.

For candidates who sat the common General Studies or subject paper once for several advertisements, the same marks are carried to each, based on the self-declarations GPSC asked for on 20 May and 13 July 2026.

What to do if your number is on a list

Upload your application and certificates online only, on gpsc-iass.gujarat.gov.in. GPSC will not accept papers in person or by post, and anyone who sends them another way is treated as ineligible. Each list sets out 25 kinds of documents that may apply, from caste, degree and all-year mark sheet copies to experience letters. For date of birth, GPSC wants the SSC (Class 10) certificate; a school leaving certificate is not accepted. The exact list for each advertisement and the upload deadline will be put up on the portal. The interview list will come after scrutiny.

All of GPSC's coming exams and interviews are in our GPSC calendar 2026 guide.
