After five years of satisfactory service, you become eligible for a regular post in Pay Level 4, ₹25,500 to ₹81,100, under the Seventh Pay Commission. Fee
₹500 for unreserved candidates and ₹400 for women of every category, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, candidates with disabilities and ex-servicemen, paid online only, plus transaction charges. The fee comes back to everyone who sits the exam. It is not refunded if you skip the exam or your form is cancelled, and the Board will not take a fee after 23 November, even with a late charge.
The exam
- One paper, multiple choice, on computer or OMR: 210 questions in 3 hours.
- Part A, 90 marks: reasoning and data interpretation (30), quantitative aptitude (30), and the Constitution, current affairs, and Gujarati and English comprehension (30).
- Part B, 120 marks: the subject and its uses, pitched at diploma level.
- A quarter of a question's marks is cut for each wrong answer.
- You must score at least 40% in Part A and 40% in Part B separately. The Board says no category gets a lower bar.
- About twice as many candidates as posts, category by category, are called for document checks.
What to do now
- Check your diploma title against the list above. If it is not there and it is not a civil engineering diploma or an ITI surveyor certificate, the form will not hold.

- Apply on OJAS, confirm the form, note the confirmation number, and pay the fee by 23 November. Your category cannot be changed after you confirm; to fix a mistake, file a fresh form before 20 November and pay against the new confirmation number.
