GSSSB new bharti 2026: advertisements open on OJAS

OJAS lists these GSSSB advertisements under "Current Advertisement". All three opened on 15 October 2026 and close at 11:59 pm on 29 October 2026.

OJAS also lists a Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation post (last date 31 October 2026), which is not a GSSSB advertisement.

GSSSB exam date 2026 and GSSSB calendar

The board's recruitment calendar for July to December 2026 is dated 2 July 2026. It lists a "probable" exam month for each cadre and warns that months and vacancy counts can change. The January to June 2027 calendar will be published later.

Group A and B combined exam (CCE-1), Advt 378/2025-26: 7,338 posts.

• The 3 February 2026 advertisement listed 5,370 posts. Two corrigenda (18 and 27 February 2026) raised the total to 7,338: 2,942 in Group A and 4,396 in Group B, all Junior Clerk. The second corrigendum alone added 914 posts (252 in Group A, 662 in Group B).
• The prelim ran from 16 to 29 September 2026 as a computer-based test.
• The board's notice of 29 September 2026 plans the Group A mains for 28 November 2026 (Gujarati 10 am to 1 pm, English 3 pm to 6 pm) and 29 November 2026 (General Studies, 10 am to 1 pm). It calls this a probable plan. The calendar lists Group B mains for January 2027.

CCE-2: 2,422 posts, advertisement still to come. The calendar lists a December 2026 prelim, Group A mains in March 2027 and Group B mains in May 2027, including 1,647 Junior Clerk posts. The board's advertisement list has no CCE-2 entry on 21 October 2026.

Eligibility: Gujarati or Hindi, computer knowledge and age

Every Class 3 advertisement repeats the same core conditions:

• Citizenship: an Indian citizen, or as allowed by the Gujarat Civil Services rules.
• Language: adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both.
• Computer knowledge: basic computer application knowledge under Gujarat government resolutions of 13 August 2008 and 18 March 2016. The advertisement does not name the CCC. It accepts a certificate or marksheet from any training institute, a computer diploma, degree or course, computer as a subject in your degree or diploma, or Class 10 or 12 passed with computer. You may apply without it, but you must show it before the appointment letter, or the selection is cancelled.
• Qualification: whatever the post asks for, judged as on the last date of application.

Age limits differ by post: 18 to 33 for Work Assistant, 18 to 35 for OT Assistant and Staff Nurse, and 20 to 35 for the combined exam. Relaxations:

• General-category women: 5 years.
• Reserved-category men: 5 years. Reserved-category women: 10 years.
• Candidates with disabilities: 10 years, added to the category and gender relaxations above (up to 20 years in all), with a cap of 45 years.
• Ex-servicemen: the period served plus 3 years.

Reservation and age benefits go only to reserved-category candidates originally from Gujarat, and not when they apply for an unreserved post.

Exam fee

The fee is ₹500 for the unreserved category and ₹400 for women of all categories, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, disabled candidates and ex-servicemen. Pay online (debit card, net banking, UPI or wallet) plus a small transaction charge, after you get a confirmation number. The last date to pay is 1 November 2026, 11:59 pm. There is no late fee and no offline payment.

Candidates who appear in the exam get the fee back to their own bank account, except where the advertisement says otherwise (Advt 462). If your application is cancelled, there is no refund. Exam pattern and GSSSB syllabus

Single-cadre exams (Work Assistant, OT Assistant and similar): one stage, a computer-based or OMR MCQ paper, 210 questions, 3 hours, with 1/4 of the marks cut for each wrong answer.

For Work Assistant, the syllabus notice of 15 October 2026 puts Irrigation Engineering at 20 marks, Water Resource Management 15 and Surveying 10 in Part B. Each post's syllabus is on the GSSSB notices page and the syllabus section.

Group A and B combined exam (CCE):

• Prelim (both groups): 150 MCQs, 150 marks, 120 minutes, 0.25 negative marking: English 15, Gujarati 15, General Awareness and Current Affairs 30, Quantitative Aptitude 30, Reasoning 60. It only screens candidates; prelim marks do not count in the final merit. Qualifying marks are 40%, and seven times the vacancies in each category go to mains.
• Group A mains (descriptive, 350 marks): Gujarati Language Skill 100, English Language Skill 100, General Studies 150, three hours each.
• Group B mains (MCQ, 200 marks, 120 minutes): ten topics, including Constitution, Economy, Public Administration, Government Schemes 30, Current Affairs 30 and History and Geography of Gujarat 20.

Multi-shift exams are normalised by the equi-percentile method, per the board's notice of 7 September 2026.

How to apply on OJAS step by step

1. Register once on ojas.gujarat.gov.in with One Time Registration (OTR). OTR is not an application: apply to each advertisement separately.
2. Go to Online Application, then Apply, and select GSSSB.
3. Click your advertisement, read More Details, then choose Apply Now. Enter your registration number and date of birth and choose Apply with OTR.
4. Check your personal details, then fill SSC details, bank details (for the fee refund, with your passbook's first page) and education.
5. Accept the declaration and save. Note your application number.
6. Upload your photo and signature. The photo should be passport-size on a white background, with the date, taken within a year before the last date.
7. Click Confirm Application. You then get a confirmation number. After confirmation, nothing can be edited.
8. Print Application Form / Pay Fees: pay online by the fee date and keep the receipt. An unpaid application is cancelled without notice.

Keep your caste, non-creamy layer, EWS, disability and education certificates ready. If you submit more than one application for an advertisement, only the last confirmed one counts.

GSSSB admit card, answer key and result

• Admit card (call letter): the board posts a notice when call letters are ready. Download from OJAS under Call Letter with your confirmation number and date of birth. No call-letter notice exists yet for Work Assistant, OT Assistant or Staff Nurse.
• Answer key: a provisional answer key and your response sheet go online after the exam, with a window for online objections only. For the combined prelim, objections ran from 5 October 2026 (11 pm) to 12 October 2026 (11:55 pm). They need official documents as proof; the board will not accept AI tools or web search.
• Result: candidates are ranked by marks. About twice the vacancies are called for document verification in single-cadre exams. The board then publishes a select list and a waiting list as PDFs on its result page.
